Prattville is home to a wide range of natural and recreational activities, including golfing, canoeing, hiking, fishing, and other forms of amusement. It is also known as the "Fountain City" (named for the profusion of artesian wells that used to flow through town).

The Autauga County Heritage Center is a great place to visit if you're interested in learning about Alabama's history. Not only can you explore the museum's collections of artifacts, but you can also take part in special events and tours. Autauga County is one year older than the state of Alabama, and the Prattaugan Museum features a diverse collection of artifacts and objects from the county. Our museum also houses a vast archive, which is available to the public for research on family histories and other historical documents. Our hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday. 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday

A huge WWII memorial with the names of Continental Gin Company employees who served in WWII, genuine bomb fragments made at Continental Gin Factory in Prattville, and information on the ladies that created them is included in this exhibit. The Bureau of Ordinance presented Continental Gin Company with the "E for Excellence" award, which is on display during WWII. Photographs, ration cards, telegrams, and newspaper clippings are among the items on display.

Built around 1840, this is a charming antebellum home. The house is now called Buena Vista, and was originally known as "The Montgomery Place." The homes Daniel Pratt built in Georgia prior to his migration to Autauga County in 1833 are remarkable examples of the Greek Revival architectural style. Pratt-designed residences feature a stunning circular cantilevered stairway, double doors with fan lights, a second-story balcony, and intricately carved cornices and ceiling medallions. Fred and Katherine Whittaker, who bought the property in 1937 and found it being utilized as a hay barn, gave the property the name "Buena Vista." They painstakingly rebuilt the house to its former glory over a number of years. The home was bought in 1982 by Union Camp Corporation, who worked with the Autauga County Historical Society (ACHS). The ACHA was given the historic home by International Paper, the next owner, in 2006. Many beautiful weddings, receptions, and dinner parties have since shared the southern atmosphere with their guests since that time.

Tours are offered on Tuesday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or by appointment. Weddings, receptions, dinners, luncheons, parties, bridal and baby showers, anniversaries, corporate events, business seminars and luncheons are all available by appointment. Battle Ground Lazer Tag is located right off Sheila Blvd in Prattville. The arena offers classic laser tag games, as well as new experiences such as Battle Grounds: Dark Matter, a horror-themed game where players must use their arsenal of light weapons to fight off waves of monstrous creatures. There is also an arcade station with games such as Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and Mario Kart. The arena has a large play area that can accommodate up to 350 players at one time.

Battle Ground Lazer Tag offers birthday parties for children of all ages, as well as private events for groups of 10 or more.

Montgomery, the city of civil rights pioneers, is rich in civil rights history, and a tour of Alabama's capital would be incomplete without a visit to the Civil Rights Memorial Center (CRMC). It is one of Alabama's most significant civil rights landmarks and serves as the interpretive focal for the Civil Rights Monument, which remembers the movement's martyrs and encourages others to continue their fight for racial equality and social justice. It is a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).

The old church where Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated is just around the corner from the CRMC and Memorial. After King spoke to thousands on the steps of the Alabama Capitol at the conclusion of the Selma-to-Montgomery voting rights march, he served as pastor during the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

Maya Lin created the Memorial, which was inaugurated in 1989, after finding inspiration in King's paraphrase from Amos 5:24 during his "I Have a Dream" address.

Creekwalk Gardens is a botanical garden located in Prattville, Maryland. The gardens were founded in 1965 and contain over 1,200 plants from around the world. The gardens are open to the public daily from sunrise to sunset, and feature a variety of activities for visitors such as picnicking, horticultural tours, and nature programs. Creekwalk Gardens is a member of the American Horticultural Society, Maryland Gardeners Association, and Chesapeake Bay Trust. The gardens are also home to the "Museum of Roses''.
